Enrico Bellotti passed away

 Enrico (Puccio) Bellotti passed away on September 11.

He was for a long time a lecturer in our Department, of which he was director between 1994 and 1997, and a member of the INFN Section of Milan. Later he was  one of the founders of the Department of Physics and the INFN Section of the University of Milan Bicocca.

Bellotti was one of the great protagonists in the experimental study of neutrino physics, from his contribution to the discovery of neutral currents at Gargamelle to the leading role in the experiments for the observation of solar neutrinos and double beta decay at the Gran Sasso Laboratory, of which he was the first director between 1987 and 1992.
