APPLICATIONS TO THE PHD IN ACCELERATOR PHYSICS ARE OPEN UNTIL JULY 20, 2021

Applications  for the admission to the next edition of the doctoral program  in accelerator physics are open until 20 July 2021

The doctorate is organized by the Sapienza University of Rome in collaboration with INFN. There will be a selection with an oral exam to be held on 23 September 2021.

The courses aim to consolidate the basic scientific knowledge in the physical sciences, acquired during the master’s degree, and to provide a solid preparation on the principles and themes of the construction and operation of accelerators. The courses will offer an overview of the main fields of application of these machines.

Some courses will be held at  INFN units. All lectures can be attended  remotely, in order to guarantee the national dimension of the doctoral. The location of each PhD student depends on the workplace of the thesis tutor chosen. The contact person for Milan is Dr. Andrea Rossi (andrea.rossi@mi.infn.it).

Due to the intrinsically international nature of the community of accelerator physicists, many of the students spend a significant fraction of their time abroad at prestigious research centers such as CERN.
